The DFL Overnight Summer Intensive Dance Camp is Here!

The Dance For Life Overnight Summer Intensive Dance Camp is here!

Register Now! Spots will fill up fast!

Beginners and Advanced programs! ( Grades 2-12)

This camp is for all levels from beginners to the advanced* dancer. This program is presented by Dance For LIFE and will be held at Camp Cavell in Lexington, MI. Campers will spend the week building self-confidence, cultural exchange, and strong technique with professional instruction.

Take dance classes in the morning and explore other camp activities in the afternoons. This week will be focused on Modern/Contemporary, West African, Jazz, Improvisation, and Ballet dance techniques.

Keep your eyes open because, on occasion, beach Ballet may be in play, you may find West African in the woods, and that sneaky improvisation could pop up anywhere. We’ll finish the week with a small recital for family and friends.

To give our campers the dedication, attention, and instruction that they deserve, spaces are limited and will fill up fast so Register Soon!

*Dancers wishing to be in the advanced program should have a minimum of two full years of dance training.

West African Dance

Rhythm, Rhythm, Rhythm! Haven’t got any? Come and find it! You will be surprised how easy it is to find your rhythm as you get seriously fit. Come follow the beat of the drums and learn the basics of West African dance and rhythm. This class is for men and women of all ages and is taught to recorded music, though on special occasions we may have live drummers for the class. Please bring a towel, a bottle of water and wear loose clothing! Also, Ladies, if you have a Lapa or other large lightweight wrap or scarf feel free to bring it.

About

Dance for Life is a school of dance that was founded on the core L.I.F.E. concepts. Love, Inspiration, Faith and Empowerment, as well  as firm technique. We teach the dancer not just the dance.
( Please check out our Founder’s Note to read more on the unusual story of bullying that eventually led to founding of DFL in January 2014).
We maintain a strong curriculum in dance technique,
but we also believe that inspiring self-confidence for a lifetime comes only when you Love the Heart, Inspire the Spirit, show Faith in the Purpose, and Empower by educating the mind. This concept of LIFE is a culmination of all the things that we reach for when we need to find that little bit of extra self-confidence to push us over the edge in life. That little bit of extra self-confidence that makes us stand up to the bully, whether it be another child in school, a work environment, or own self-doubt standing in the way of our dreams and aspirations, or indeed our peace of mind. We believe that everyone should,… GET A LIFE.
The DFL program was designed to create a nurturing
environment for the introduction and exploration dance for young and old alike as well as to nurture the more experienced and emerging dancer. DFL is for the recreational dancer, those who want to dance their way into more fit and healthy lifestyle, and the training or refresher dancer alike.
We maintain a private, sprung floor studio where adults and children can train and explore dance in a fun and nurturing environment.
